Turning Green- Lifestyle Fashion Show

fashionshowposter.jpgOn April 4, Teens for Safe Cosmetics hosted Turning Green, an eco-fashion show and green spa at the Broad Street Ballroom in NYC, created to raise “green” to new heights. Presented by Whole Foods Market, the event celebrated Earth Month and was an innovative and visual opportunity to educate, inform, and inspire awareness around living life in the deepest shade of green. Zem Joaquin, founder of Ecofabulous.com was our guest host with teen campaign member Erin Schrode, who opened and closed the evening event with style.

Sixteen teen models, from both public and private schools from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and who opt for green in their own lives, walked the runway with plenty of joie de vivre! Turning Green featured a day in the life of an eco-conscious teen showcasing products that were sustainable, organic and green. The goal was to inform the audience and inspire them to take a similar journey in their own lives. One simple step at a time so that task is easy.

Following the runway show, guests were welcomed into the Green Spa, and given the opportunity to experience organic and eco-conscious products from many green companies. They were treated to sumptuous organic and healthy snacks and beverages. Each guest was gifted the popular Whole Foods Market reusable bag in which to collect their samples.

We thank the many fashion, beauty and accessory eco- companies who helped this show come to life.
We couldn't have done it without a dedicated team of fantastic volunteers.
