About Teens for Safe Cosmetics

Teens for Safe Cosmetics is a coalition led by dynamic and passionate young women raising awareness about potentially harmful ingredients in beauty and daily use products that may be linked to cancer, reproductive harm and other health risks. Their mission is to educate the public about harmful chemicals found in cosmetics and personal care products, advocate for legislation that protects one’s right to health and to inspire teens across the nation to work together around these issues and create change within their communities.

Student representatives from Drake, Redwood, Tamalpais, and Branson high schools will present their findings as a model for  making school campuses healthy and non-toxic.

Marin County Supervisors Chambers
3501 Civic Center Drive ·  Suite 329

Students leading this project are committed to preserving the health  of their generation by doing research on their school  campuses (where  they spend more than a third of their day) as the  backdrop for  exploration, education and collaboration with teachers, school administration and community leaders. Dividing their schools into four categories; food service, classroom, janitorial and landscape, students are researching the products that contain harmful  ingredients and working with teachers and administration to eliminate  them and identify greener alternatives.

Join us to hear them present their case!
